Thank you for expressing interest in volunteering at this year’s Norwich Yoga Festival.
The volunteering team really is the backbone of the day and without it, the festival couldn’t happen, so I thank you for considering spending your time with us.
What’s available:
Friday 31st July.
Set up day
I (Alex) head down to the picnic meadow early Friday morning to start the set up. There are many tasks that need completing from about 10am. It’s random manual labor, putting up tents and gazebos, flags and signs, painting and odd jobs.
It’s very much an active day, with random tasks as they need to be done, but it’s a lot less pressure than Saturday.
If you have a few spare hours (or even 1) on Friday 31st, your help will be hugely appreciated. Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided.
You can park on the meadow, but I’ll have some parking permits (seriously limited) for the car park if you don’t want to drive your car up the hill / it’s really wet (it wont be).
Saturday 1st August:
Festival Day
Half day: 7am-1pm
Full day: 7am - 7pm (probably leave earlier than 7)
Arrival at the meadow for 7am for team brief, then tasks can include:
Ticket check in at the gate
Meet and greet on the road
Wristband checks at various tents/stages
Sound set up for teachers (not one for tech phobes, but just say and it’s fine)
Toilet roll top ups
Answering questions / offering assistance
Manning festival HQ
Festival face glitter application
Emptying bins
Moving barriers/ directing traffic
Assisting vendors and teachers to where they need to be
Any other random things that could come up when running an event
If you’re not keen on any of the tasks (introvert/ hate tech / don’t want to do anything solo) then these are reasonable things and we can work around them.
As a half day volunteer you receive:
Volunteer t-shirt (must be worn when ‘on shift’) which you can keep
A water bottle bag
Coffee / tea token
Snacks at Festival HQ
1 x ticket for a friend or loved one
Parking permit
As a full day volunteer your receive:
Volunteer t-shirt (must be worn when ‘on shift’) which you can keep
A water bottle bag
Food truck token for lunch
Snacks, tea and coffee at Festival HQ
2 x ticket for friends or loved ones
Parking on the meadow if your car can / you are willing to drive on
If volunteering at the festival sounds like something you’d like to do. Please fill out the questionnaire below.
Once we’ve received it, it’ll take a few weeks to process, but we’ll be in touch to confirm.
Thank you again.
Love and light
Alex and the NYF Team x
