I invite you to enter the spiral and join your sisterhood tribe as we honour the turning of the wheel.
Join us in our Goddess Temple and sit in a Women's Circle Sanctuary at the Norwich and Norfolk Yoga Festival as we honour the sacred lands of Norfolk and enter the Portal of ‘Lammas’, the harvest season between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox. It is now high summer (YES!) and the union of Sun and Earth, of God and Goddess, of Masculine and Feminine Energy has produced the First Harvest. Lammas is the celebration of this first, Grain Harvest, a time for gathering in and giving thanks for abundance. August is His sacred month. In this Lammas Women's Circle you will go on a journey to remembrance, to awaken your feminine and call in the abundance of the harvest to create your vision for the turning seasons. Shamatha- MindfulnessWant to experience clarity, strength and stability? To discover the power to choose your responses as you move through the world, so that you can make choices that will nourish you and in turn others?
In this 35 minute teaching, British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher Catherine Rolfe will guide you onto this path as she introduces you to the practice of mindfulness meditation, known as Shamatha in the Buddhist tradition. Shamatha means resting in peace with whatever arises. We’ll be covering the building blocks of this practice, as well as how to build a habit of daily practice and the benefits of doing so. There’ll also be time to ask any questions. Whether you are an experienced practitioner looking to refine and refresh your meditation practice, are completely new to meditation and unsure where to start, all are welcome to join this session and can expect a warm welcome, as Catherine demystifies and simplifies mindfulness meditation. 10:20-11am @ The Norwich Yoga Festival |
Meta MeditationThe opposite of stress - Maitri or loving-kindness meditation
What do Patanjali, Buddhist teachings and 21st century neuroscience all have in common? They all tell us that through practice we have the power to choose what we cultivate in our minds. So, what if instead of our normal natural negative bias, we could cultivate friendliness, compassion and happiness? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to do just that, as British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher Catherine Rolfe introduces you to and guides you through the practice of Maitrior loving-kindness meditation. Maitri, sometimes also known as unconditional friendliness, involves placing our awareness on feelings of compassion and kindness, allowing us to reconnect to these natural qualities that we all possess. You’ll be taken step by step through this contemplative practice, as well as how to build a habit of daily Maitri and the benefits of doing so. There’ll also be time to ask any questions you may have. Whether you are an experienced practitioner, are completely new to meditation, or somewhere in between, all are welcome to join this session and experience the clarity and serenity that arises when the qualities of the heart are cultivated. 1:05-1:40pm @ the Norwich Yoga Festival |

Awaken the chakrasFeeling a bit out of balance or just want to find out more about these ancient practices? Whatever your reason for joining me, you’d be very welcome!
Join me, Theresa Samworth in the zen tent for a revitalising and restoring session aimed at balancing your energy by working through the chakras. The word chakra means wheel in Sanskrit. According to yoga philosophy, there are 72,000 energy channels in the body called nadis. The Chakras are the spinal column regions where the nadis (or energy channels) cross. It is believed that when the chakras are fully functioning the kundalini energy or life force can move up the body’s energy channels (i.e through the chakras) and reach the Sahasrara chakra, the ‘bridge to the cosmos’. Using the ancient practices of pranayama (breathwork), visualisation, the chakra bija mantras and a specially written meditation practice by ‘insight timer’ app meditation teacher Theresa, together we will awaken and balance the chakras (hopefully!) leaving you feeling beautifully balanced.
